Our Mission Statement
Everybody Matters
At the heart of our learning community are the children. At Seabrook we provide relevant and challenging opportunities to enable everyone to achieve their maximum potential and enjoy learning in a safe, positive and Christian environment where all achievements are celebrated.
The Seabrook Way
We don't have lists of rules at Seabrook, instead the children are taught to be considerate to all members of the community - we do things the Seabrook Way.
The Seabrook Way
- is to be polite to everyone, all the time
- to care for others and their property
- is to always try to do our best
- to keep hands, feet and objects to ourselves
If a child does something unacceptable, or persistently misbehaves, they will be helped to make up for their actions. This will usually involve loss of playtimes and will result in a telephone call or letter to the parent/carer. No form of bullying will be tolerated so if you have any concerns please contact the headteacher straight away.
Collective Worship
Legal Requirements
At Seabrook every child takes part in a daily act of collective worship as set down in law(The Education Reform Act 1988) unless their parents choose to withdraw them. A withdrawn child may remain with the other children, but not take part, or they may leave the room. The school remains responsible for their supervision.
We are a Church of England School and this is reflected in the Christian nature of our assemblies.
Aims
Through our collective worship we hope to provide opportunities for the children:
- to develop spiritually and morally and learn tolerance and respect for each other
- to celebrate Christian values on which the life of the school is based, to recognise that all things are worth doing well, that effort brings satisfaction, that truth matters, that ideas are important and that happiness is worth striving for
- to learn the skills of worship, to share experience as a large group
- to develop the practice of reflection, to focus on the special moment
- to experience some of the traditional forms of Christian worship
